Stimulus spending has been shown to be a failure in all ways but one, "free" money tends to buy votes . To that end Bob Etheridge is funneling pork to Benson NC. and he is proud.
U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge was in town last week to deliver a total of $135,000 to Benson.
Benson NC. was not alone. It seems Selma NC. is on welfare as well:
"This funding shows what our recovery dollars can do for towns and communities like Selma," Etheridge said. "People will be put to work, and folks in Selma will be better protected because police will be better equipped to serve them. This is a win-win - more jobs and better public safety."
These are examples of immoral governance at work.
Stimulus spending has failed; our nation is broke, yet Bob Etheridge is rounding up votes with debt dollars yet to be paid for by generations of unborn Americans who will suffer from his profligate form of governance.
It is one level of immoral governance to buy votes with current tax dollars, but it is beyond immoral to, with pride, buy votes on the backs of the unborn.
Bob Etheridge should be ashamed of himself ... as should we be ashamed of ourselves.
Selma NC, Eden NC, Benson NC, and all citizens should be ashamed for being pigs at the trough and enabling this cancer in governance.
Utterly. Beyond. Immoral.

I laughed out loud when I read your attempt at a serious entry above. In particular:
ReplyDelete"It is one level of immoral governance to buy votes with current tax dollars, but it is beyond immoral to, with pride, buy votes on the backs of the unborn".
Do you honestly think this is the first time congress has borrowed money? Have you forgotten the huge deficit hole President Bush and the Republican Congress put us in before President Obama?
And as for using the work "immoral", I don't think you're in a very strong position to use that word.
I have taken issue many times with the congress under the first 6 years of Bush on the topic of over spending. In fact they lost me as a Conservative. In their defense, though, the deficit was shrinking after the hit the deficit took after 9/11 until the last two years of Bush with Nancy Pelosi controlling the national purse.
ReplyDeleteRecall, it is congress that controls our nation's purse, not the president.
Frankly, comparing the 9/11 deficits which, in the worst of years was 400 Billion, to the 2 trillion dollar deficits our nation has suffered under Pelosi, is laughable.
Forgetting we spend so much that our Federal Reserve is forced to step in and buy our own debt is laughable.
Finding that some individuals do not recognize passing debt levels beyond any historical parallel on to their progeny is an issue is incredibly sad.
But often the same people who find picking the pockets of the unborn easy are the same people who were first acclimated to picking their lives through abortion.
