OK...Yea. The NYTimes article continues...
Uhh, it seems to me Obama is suggesting we go beyond the hopes of liberals 'no first strike' desires if we can't so much as defend ourselves from attack.
Finally..
But not a surprise...
Oh, and dump Brad Miller NC-13.

For the first time, the United States is explicitly committing not to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states that are in compliance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, even if they attacked the United States with biological or chemical weapons, or launched a crippling cyberattack. But Obama claims..
“I’m going to preserve all the tools that are necessary in order to make sure that the American people are safe and secure,”
OK...Yea. The NYTimes article continues...
Mr. Obama’s new strategy is bound to be controversial, both among conservatives who have warned against diluting America’s most potent deterrent, and among liberals who were hoping for a blanket statement that America would never be the first to use nuclear weapons.
Uhh, it seems to me Obama is suggesting we go beyond the hopes of liberals 'no first strike' desires if we can't so much as defend ourselves from attack.
Finally..
Mr. Obama described his policy as part of a broader effort to edge the world toward making nuclear weapons obsolete, and to create incentives for countries to give up any nuclear ambitions. To set an example, the new strategy renounces the development of any new nuclear weapons, overruling the initial position of his own defense secretary. This does not edge the world toward anything. It is neither carrot nor stick, but rather......a weakening. It is blatant display of unicorn fantasy, rather than a real world understanding of human nature. Our President clearly inhabits a reality all his own beyond even his own defense secretary. More and more I believe Obama's true intent is to weaken our nation. Simply awful.
But not a surprise...
Oh, and dump Brad Miller NC-13.
