Brown Fallout...End of EPA Overreach?

The EPA is considering declaring CO2, a gas that we all exhale, a toxic pollutant that is dangerous to humans. Such a declaration will allow the EPA too regulate CO2. Fortunately some of our legislators are moving to protect their constitutional power to raise taxes.

Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska is leading the charge to block the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gasses, and today she got some support from across the aisle: Three Democratic senators signed onto Murkowski resolution to bar such regulation.

Legislation that raises taxes whether directly or otherwise should originate with our representatives so that they can be held responsible for overreach and outright stupidity. Abdicating the power to tax to a government agency should result in the ousting of those who support such a dodge of responsibility. The constitution has a little something to say on the subject.
