Conservatives in the house have put repeal of ObamaCare front and center. The vote is scheduled for Jan 12 and the 2 page bill can be found here.

To date there are two NC democrats ( Heath Shuler and Larry Kissell) who voted against ObamaCare's implementation but now refuse to vote for ObamaCare's repeal.

Rep. Larry Kissell offered this gibberish up as an excuse for his about face via The Hill:

"I am not going to vote to repeal it," Kissell told The Hill, adding that despite his opposition to the measure, Democrats "put a lot of energy into this bill."

Rep. Heath Shuler, though, gave a more honest excuse, also via The Hill:

Rep. Heath Shuler (N.C.), another Democrat who voted "no" last year, told The Hill that the GOP's plan to repeal the full healthcare bill is "immoral."

“There are some very good things in this bill that have already become law: Parents can keep their kids on their insurance till they’re 26, it’s helping to close the donut hole for seniors, and children with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied access to coverage. I think it is not just wrong, but immoral to take those things away," Shuler said in a statement.

So, on the one hand we have Kissell who likely retained his seat this past Nov. as a result of his rejection of ObamaCare, but who now rejects ObamaCare's repeal due to all the Democratic energy that would be wasted. Gibberish.

While on the other hand we have Rep. Heath Shuler who in a single statement traces the two year arc of the greatest dance with immoral governance our nation has known.

Those "good" things Shuler mentioned in his statement were not good enough for his yes vote in the implementation of ObamaCare, but those same "good" things are now important enough to not support ObamaCare's repeal.

What changed? ObamaCare's passage.

Shuler's statement lays bare the gamble the Democrat Party took in foisting ObamaCare on America. They gambled that ignoring the will of the people and forcing this unwanted and difficult to remove law on the citizenry would give them the long term political return that Social Security, Medicare, and Medicade gave them at the small short term cost of the house and possibly the Senate.

They were willing to forsake representing the citizens of this nation and, instead, rule as a tyrannical body (a true tyranny of the majority) to force upon our nation law that empowers themselves at the cost of individual liberty.

And that is the change that has forced both Rep. Shuler and Rep. Kissell to not support the repeal of ObamaCare. It is also the Democrat gamble. ObamaCare is now law and the removal of that law will become politically unpalatable over time due what Shuler describes as "good things" within the law. It is a law that will weave its way into our society just as Social Security has and as it does it will create bureaucracies upon bureaucracies filled with government employees loyal to the Democrat Party, loyal to the very party that originally ignored the will of the people for that vote. Not only will democrat voters be created, but the tools to influence the citizenry toward the "greatest good" as defined by unaccountable bureaucrats will be in the hands of the party of social engineering.

Again, all this power and influence would go to a party willing to govern against the will of the people to gain that power.

Shuler, Kissell and all the others who voted against ObamaCare and then vote against its repeal are supporting the fruit of that tyrannical majority and are themselves practicing immoral governance.

It is a vision in which the recipients of health-care become a cost and government becomes the customer, a system in which the health-care industry grovels at the feet of the source of its funding - bureaucrats, while the infirmed wait in line for the chance to beg for the health-care they paid recalcitrant bureaucrats for.

Brad Miller's vision of better health-care inserts himself between my doctor and myself through insurance companies.

Eventually, though, the nation will question the existence of the insurance companies and the end result will be the NHS, England's government health-care. Via dailymail.com:

Earlier this year the Government's rationing body said more cuts in medical treatments are planned to save the NHS at least £600million.

Patients could find it harder to get into hospital under plans from the National Institute for health and Clinical Excellence, which advises on drugs and procedures to be funded.

Brad Miller's vision for Health-Care in the US is to fully break the bond between health-care customer and health-care provider, so that he, governance embodied, will be the one the infirmed come to when in need. He has no medical degree, has taken no Hippocratic oath, yet his governance will be the source of our health-care.

Imagine our need, imagine Brad Miller's influence...

Health-care has to be paid for out of our pockets. Either it goes directly from our pockets to the health-care industry, or it goes in to the hands of governance then to the health-care industry. The question is...is it more efficient for us to give our dollars directly to those who wish to provide us with a service and retain the power we have as a customer over a provider, than to give those dollars and influence to Brad Miller, and be left groveling at his feet when we fear services may be cut.

Brad Miller's vision for health-care increases Brad Miller's influence while decreasing ours, it strengthens government while weakening America. Under Brad Miller's vision Europe's socialist failure will be ours.

Brain Trust Rep. David Price Raises the Cost of Health Care in America With a Vote...

"So I just got a call from my health insurance provider. My family rates are going up $200/month ... $2400/year per employee effective April 1st. Didn't take long after signing to get this s**t going.

So much for the "my plan will save Americans" $2500/year in Healthcare premiums."

All insurance companies should follow this lead if they wish to keep their businesses in the future. There is no free ride ride, free lunch, or free anything. Ultimately the cost of ObamaCare will be born on the shoulders of all employees. The fact is that the true cost of using heath-care facilities will be hidden from the users driving health-care costs higher as their demands will increase with the apparent decrease in cost. Add to this the fact that ObamaCare mandates Cadillac plans for everyone forcing the cost of the plans higher. Our president has been attempting to sell us a free ride. At one point we referred to this as selling the Brooklyn Bridge.

The reality of our President's lies are becoming apparent more quickly than I anticipated. Obama claimed we would see a 3000% reduction in costs. He lied.
David Price voted for ObamaCare. David Price supported Obama's lies with that vote. David Price sported a poor understanding of economics when he voted for ObamaCare. David Price supported Obama's hucksterism when he voted for ObamaCare. David Price supported kickbacks when he voted for ObamaCare.

David Price should no longer be the representative of NC- 4.

Rep. Bob Etheridge -- Forgetting the state he represents....

North Carolina sent Bob Etheridge to Washington to represent not just the interests of the people of North Carolina but the interests of our great state as well.

If Bob Etheridge did anything to strengthen North Carolina it has been over shadowed by the incredible pain and loss of power he inflicted on our state and its people when he threw his support behind ObamaCare.

First off, North Carolina has power reserved to by the Constitution. In fact, all states have reserved to them all powers not explicitly defined as a Federal power. (Amendment 10 of the Constitution) Up until this point North Carolina controlled health care within its boarders and could tailor that care to suit the needs of the citizens of North Carolina if it so desired. Bob Etheridge, though, denied our people and NC the authority to control health care within our boarders. Bob Etheridge denied our state the ability tailor its health care system to it's specific needs. But even worse, Bob Etheridge abdicated that authority to our distant and unresponsive federal government.

This is not the action of a man who represents our state. This is, rather, the action of a man who represents the interests of Washington, a Washington drunk on power and ever desirous of more. Bob Etheridge supports funneling powers Constitutionally reserved to North Carolina and its people away from our state to Washington. Bob Etheridge is an enabler of Washington's power drunken stupor and likely addicted to it himself.

The Health Care Industry represents 1/6 of the economy. Therefore, it stands to reason that 1/6 of NC economy was simply turned over to Washington by Bob Etheridge. 1/6th of North Carolina's economy is no longer under the control of North Carolina and its people!

Bob Etheridge does not represent the interests of North Carolina, but rather, the interests of Washington.

Bob Etheridge's lust for Washington power is greater than his love for North Carolina.Bob Etheridge harms North Carolina. Bob Etheridge harms the citizens of North Carlina.

We need to force Bob Etheridge home for some Washington power addiction rehab. this November.

ObamaCare News Roundup...

This is a first for Polifrog; here's to first trys:

• A few days ago we were prematurely introduced to socialist Donald Berwick by way of recess appointment. Polifrog had been looking forward tothe hearings. Today ABC reports that the Berwick appointment was too important to wait for a hearing.
• Via HotAir we learn that the IRS does not have the resources to handle ObamaCare.
• Perhaps some of the funding the IRS needs to handle ObamaCare can come from taxing war vet prosthetics.
• Of course, in the event we are unable to kill ObamaCare we will always be able to join the ranks of other nations sporting socialized health-care and engage in medical tourism, another example of Democrats exporting American industry.

Oklahoma House Overrides Governor's Veto of Opt out of ObamaCare Bill:

Oklahoma's Governor Henry vetoed a bill that would have allowed Oklahoma to opt out of ObamaCare. Like Bev Purdue, he believes weakening the state he represents is good for his state.

Unlike NC, though, Oklahoma has a house that represents the people of the state and Oklahoma's house has voted to override their Governor's veto. Good. Unfortunately, in the Oklahoma senate the result may not be so positive.

The fact that Oklahoma has representatives enough to put their pro ObamaCare representatives on record as being pro ObamaCare is a wonderful thing, as many will likely loose their seats as a result.

NC does not have this advantage.
