It is easy to understand why a representative responds to the will of the people. It is their job to do so. They have the consent of those they represent. If they fail at their jobs, they loose that consent and they loose their jobs. Simple.

There are times, though, when this does not apply and a representative can vote against the will of the governed without feeling the repercussions of the people. One is when the representative is retiring. The other is when the representative knows they will loose the next election anyway. Obama, Pelosi and Reid recognized this as a tool, perhaps not from the beginning, but definitely toward the end of the Obamacare battle.

This is where we find ourselves currently. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid have brutalized their own party beyond all imagination with a never-give-up push for ObamaCare. Democrat poll numbers fell commensurately . Many members, recognizing they had already lost the consent of the the governed, no longer saw a downside to voting against the wishes of those they represented. The others, who were retiring, followed a similar calculus and found it easy to vote against the wishes of the people as well.

As a result ObamaCare passed due to the loss of consent of the people governed. In a real way, it passed with the deliberate use of broken consent. Representatives like David Price joined Obama, Pelosi, and Reid in the use of this tool when they lent their vote to Obamacare.

With the passage of ObamaCare amid unpopularity and questions of process, the power of the Obama, Pelosi, Reid tool of broken consent only grew stronger. Unfortunately, though, they will retain the power of broken consent until January and this country will have to endure votes on, Cap and Trade, Amnesty, and possibly a VAT tax to fund the supposedly debt shrinking ObamaCare -- Possibly passing some of this nonsense in a lame-duck session.

Below is a diagram describing the implementation of policy that is not supported by the people, thus difficult to push through. Unfortunately the diagram below does not include ObamaCare, all the same, the diagram exemplifies governance through broken consent.
This is akin to tyranny and Rush's use of the term regime is sadly accurate. Any and all representatives who lend their votes to bills rejected by the people, that then go on to pass through the use of broken consent, should loose office at the first opportunity.

Lets move beyond David Price in November for his unconscionable support of ObamaCare and tyrannical use of broken consent to foist ObamaCare on the American people.

From The Wall Street Journal we hear that Caterpillar Takes a Hit on Health Care...

Caterpillar Inc. said Wednesday it will take a $100 million charge to earnings this quarter to reflect additional taxes stemming from newly enacted U.S. health-care legislation.

Caterpillar was joined by John Deere in announcing their increased health care costs....

Farm equipment maker Deere expects after-tax expenses to rise by $150 million this year as a result of the health care reform law President Barack Obama signed this week.

These expenses are not ultimately born by the corporations. Whether it's a corporate tax, an environmental tax, a health car tax, or the cost of raw materials and labor, expenses are ultimately passed on to the consumer as increased prices for goods. Not only does this make the citizens of the US poorer,but In a global economy this makes American Corporations less competitive and when they are less competitive they provide fewer jobs. (See GM, Ford) This is yet another step in the great wind-down of America fostered by the progressive movement.


There is no free lunch nor is there free health care and running it through the gov. only exacerbates the costs. It seems that Obama believes otherwise. He even claimed that business would see a 3000% reduction in costs with the passage of his plan.


Leaving aside the ignorance in stating that something would reduce costs by over 100%, Obama lied. I realize that in a storm dishonesty one lie can seem inconsequential, but a lie is a lie and should be called out as such.

GK Butterfield supported this dishonesty, the lie that ObamaCare is a cost savings, with his vote for Obamacare.

North Carolina is better than GK Butterfield and his support for ObamaCare is an embarrassment for this state. GK Butterfield is an embarrassment for North Carolina.

Brad Miller (NC-13) Bad Economic Solutions During Difficult Times...

Brad Miller cosponsored The America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2010 (H.R. 5116). According to Brad Miller on his office's congressional website:

“Before this recession, the industries that North Carolinians traditionally relied upon--textiles, tobacco, furniture-- suffered one loss after another,” Miller said. “Now unemployment in North Carolina is more than 14% in some parts. Most of those traditional jobs are not coming back. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that new jobs are going to come from science and research. New jobs are created by the development and adoption of new technologies and America must be leading the way.”

“Plain and simple, this bill will create jobs. It provides loans to allow small and mid-size businesses to keep their current employees and hire more. The Research Triangle Park, a leader in advanced energy, will greatly benefit from provisions that will create regional economies around existing areas of expertise, or innovation hubs,” Miller added.

Can it truly be argued that removing money from American investors and savers, funneling those dollars through the grinding inefficiencies of governance only put what remains in the hands of industries that owe their existence to government is a strength for America?

No! This is not how America became great.


This, though, is what Brad Miller argues, against history, in his cosponsoring of H.R. 5116.


Because Brad Miller brought up NC's history in textiles, tobacco, and furniture a little history is in order. The supposition inherent in Brad Miller's comments is that NC had a strong economy through most of the 20th century due to it's reliance on textiles, tobacco, and furniture and to regain that economic strength we need government investment to seed new growth in new areas. The idea that this is a path to economic strength is wrong headed.

NC's historical reliance on textiles, tobacco, and furniture did not stem from government seed money as Brad Miller seems to suggest, but rather private investor seed money. NC's strength in these areas was a result of individual and private investment and in the case of tobacco, fortunate climactic positioning.

An underrated but more important factor in NC's strength was the fact that it was one state of many in a successful country and this web of states have been able to efficiently support one another economically through the magic of the "invisible hand" and free trade.

In pointing to the success of NC in the 20th century as support for his form of Crony Capitalism, Brad Miller besmirches all NC individuals who had an actual hand in NC's economic strength during that period of NC's history.

Brad Miller's support for H.R. 5116 also indicates his support for policies that threaten to lead America toward a more Mercantilistic economy, more commonly called Crony Capitalism today. American capitalism has already crushed Mercantilism once and Brad Miller's desire to install it as a fixture in American governance speaks to his lack of education. Crony Capitalism weakens America just as it weakened, and continues to weaken Europe. Brad Miller does not seem to understand that if America is weakened NC is weakened as well.

Brad Miller is an embarrassment to economic thought, an embarrassment to America, an embarrassment NC and he should be an embarrassment to himself.

This is an insight into the fundamental health-care choice we have before us.

It doesn't end with the unborn either. We would all become a cost under governmental health-care and as such our deaths would work to the advantage of the system.

I would prefer my continued life to work to the advantage of the system, and it does so when the heath-care system has to fight for my dollars. It is to their advantage if I live to bring back more dollars later.

Of course, I have to be the source of those dollars. When I am not the source of the dollars I become a cost.

Massachusetts medical-device companies say they’ll cut back on operational costs - and jobs - after a planned 2.3 percent tax on their products is implemented in 2013, according to a new survey.



The tax - imposed to help pay for the massive health-care industry overhaul and expansion - is “of the greatest concern” to a majority of its members, the survey found.

About 70 percent of the survey respondents said future innovation will be hurt by a new federal “physician sunshine bill.” The bill will require medical-device firms to report their marketing expenditures on physicians, and a recently passed gift-ban law in Massachusetts.

It would also seem to contradict President Obama's statements that Americans who like their current plans could keep them. Bob Etheridge (NC-2) -- Rationing Health-Care

We were told there was no rationing of health-care in ObamaCare. Politics.
Common sense said otherwise.




When the trust between producer and consumer is broken market distortions occur. Such is the case within the network of laws that is ObamaCare.

Within its pages health-care producers are no longer paid by end users and instead cater to those who do pay them, the more heavily regulated new arm of the government called insurance. The end users who are not required to pay only see free health-care, thus use more of it and use it more frivolously because dollar limitations no longer exist. This stresses supply and drives up costs. Simple and based on human nature.

The only way control way for costs to be controlled when the trust between provider and consumer or end user is broken is to ration the health-care we all receive. Government boards will necessarily do the rationing and when individuals die as a result of their decision not to provide care, then those boards can rightfully be called Death Panels.

A congressman who does not see this does not deserve to be a congressman. Bob Etheridge not only joined his party in the denials of Death Panels, but lent his support for them with his vote in favor of ObamaCare. Even based on the most dismal of expectations Bob Etheridge has failed to serve North Carolina and should loose his seat in November.

What is it about human nature that so befuddles Bob Etheridge? This question alone should mark Bob Etheridge as unfit to serve in congress.

Rep David Price (NC4) -- Passing Law Before it is Defined...

One would think a representative would sign off on law that was not only understood but fully defined. That is not the case for David Price. Understanding what a law is and what it may become does not seem to matter to David Price, but then he did not read it.

ObamaCare supporters touted a new requirement of within ObamaCare for insurers to carry adults of up 26 years old on their parents policy. As awful as the infantilization of adults is, the requirement seemed simple enough.

Now enter policy:

"The new policy applies only to health insurance plans that offer dependent coverage in the first place: while most insurers and employer-sponsored plans offer dependent coverage, there is no requirement to do so," the Department of Health and Human Services said in a statement Monday.

This is an example of law being defined after its passage and is an excellent example of the way David Price and his friends Reid, Pelosi and Obama impart the change they desire on our country.

The announcement is part of the administration's effort to translate the new health-care law into more specific regulations. The full meaning of the sweeping legislation will not be known until the regulations are issued.

It is increasingly clear David Price voted for ObamaCare without caring how it effected the people of NC. What is not clear is what David Price has foisted upon this nation, as ObamaCare has not fully metastasized.

I suspect this is simply another form of governance through Broken Consent, an example of passing a law in the guise of something that is more palatable to the people than the reality that would not be accepted.

Currently Greece is on the receiving end of demands in exchange for a bailout.

The IMF is only one part of the bailout, but through just the IMF American tax payers are possibly on the hook for up to 50 Billion dollars in loans to bail out Greece for running their country in just the way Bob Etheridge and Obama wish to run America. Not only does the American tax payer have to pay for the increasing costs of health-care due to ObamaCare, but potentially the health-care of Greece as well. Of course, this 50 Billion seems paltry compared to the 115 Billion more than 'advertised' ObamaCare will cost the tax payer.

But what demands are being foisted on Greece?

Until now, the government has not been able to lay off civil servants, whose employment rights are in effect constitutionally guaranteed.

Another reform high on the list is removing the state from the marketplace in crucial sectors like health care, transportation and energy and allowing private investment. Economists say that the liberalization of trucking routes — where a trucking license can cost up to $90,000 — and the health care industry would help bring down prices in these areas, which are among the highest in Europe.

Yea, privatize health-care.

The above corrective measures expected of Greece is nothing less than a laundry list of Bob Etheridge's liberal policies of which the end result is Greek failure.

Clearly Bob Etheridge embodies the relentless pursuit of debt and Greek styled misery in America.

What does this mean?

One of the greatest strengths inherent in being an American is the ability to vote with our dollars, Simply put, business do what they do to get our dollars. If they don't provide the service they don't get the dollars. Businesses do what they do well, they do it efficiently, or they fail. This simple concept is such an ingrained concept it has become taken for granted and, frankly, a bore to describe. But, all the same, it is an the source of miracles and has created one of the world's greatest most efficient economic powers the history has ever known.

Yesterday our socialist democrats have decided it best to kill one sixth of that miracle. They have taken from Americans our power to vote with our dollar when purchasing health care. In their distorted world view,they feel they should be the source of all dollars in the medical sector of our economy. The transaction is no longer defined as being between the provider and the end user, and instead has been redefined as between Gov. and provider. One sixth of the economy (health care) is now in business to make the Gov happy in an effort to get Gov. dollars.

This forces the health-care end user out of the transaction and relegates them to the powerless status of a business cost. That is, you and me---business costs.

Rep GK Butterfield (NC-1) -- More Proof of Ineptitude

GK Butterfield lent his support and, by extension, the support of North Carolinians for a bill he clearly did not read (time was not given to do so) but more importantly did not understand.

Congress may be fined tens of millions of dollars a year under its own health-care law, in part because the bill dumps members of Congress and their staffs from their current health-care plans.

But no one really knows for sure what the bill does, not even the experts. For instance, exactly who qualifies as an“employer” — and therefore is subject to fines up to$3,000 per employee — is undefined in the bill.

Congress and GK Butterfield have been caught flat footed by the very legislation they voted to implement on the American people. If GK Butterfield did not know how the law impacted his own affairs, then how could he have possibly known how it effects the people he pretends to represent?

This is proof that GK Butterfield misrepresents the people of North Carolina. It is proof of his deepening immorality and ineptitude.

“As bad as the foreclosure crisis has been, we haven’t seen the worst of it yet. Unless we get a handle on foreclosures and the decline in home values, nothing else we do to fix the economy is going to work,” Rep.
Miller said.

Our country is currently suffering through the deflation of a real estate bubble. Homes became over valued and now real estate values are now trending down toward their true values.

This is painful for all of us who own real estate but is acutely painful for those who invested at the height of the bubble.

Bill Miller supports a grade school solution.....re-inflate the bubble. We have tried this for over a year now and failed.

---75 Billion was allocated to be used toward a load modification program that has an 87% failure rate according to the inspector general.

---Another program, The Federal Housing Tax Credit, attempted to reinflate the housing bubble with a first time home buyer's cash incentive of 8 grand and in the second iteration of the bill $6500 for repeat buyers. Real estate values continued to fall. Fail.




Now, it appears Brad Miller is pushing to double down on his failed grade school economics and further increase our debt.

Brad Miller is bad for North Carolina. Brad Miller is bad for the United States. Send Brad Miller back to school so the he can grow beyond grade school economics this November.

Obama attempted to sell Americans on ObamaCare as a way to save money.
1)Cheaper for the individual.
2)Cheaper as a whole due to increased competition.
3)Cheaper due to Government Control.
4)Lowers costs by spreading the costs.

All the above contentions are untrue.

First, I will be among those who are forced to buy more health-care than I would otherwise buy as insurance. I prefer to purchase catastrophic insurance and cover my other health care costs as needed and this plan will increase my costs. I am not alone.

Second. Government competition is not competition. Governments have endlessly deep pockets and private businesses will not be able to compete. This increases costs for the nation as private alternatives are pushed out of the market leaving government as the only alternative. (Will government lament the lack of competition when they are the only provider.)

Third. Government control is another way of saying you will not get the care you want, but rather the care that is offered. Government controls, in the end, increase cost as efficiencies can't be as easily followed as one regulation or another precludes the efficient choices.

Fourth. Spreading the costs actually increase costs as the costs are not immediately born by the end user, but rather the a middleman (government) . The normal mechanism by which costs are controlled is broken by divorcing provider from end user.

The Department of Health and Human Services (RedState)...

We estimate that overall national health expenditures under the health reform act would increase by a total of $311 billion (0.9 percent) during the calendar years 2010-2019

Although several provisions would help to reduce health care volts growth, their impact would be more than offset through 2019 by the higher health expenditures resulting from coverage expansions.

President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law is getting a mixed verdict in the first comprehensive look by neutral experts: More Americans will be covered, but costs are also going up.

As for the actual cost involved, the penalty will be the higher of either $695 or 2.5% of income. Effectively, those earning below $27,800 would pay the flat rate, and after that point would begin paying the percentage. Once a person earns more than $40,000, the penalty will exceed $1,000. At $59,000, it would reach $1,475.

And Kathleen Sebelius admits she is clueless as to how much the "High Risk Pools" will cost. Estimates are already beyond original expectations.

Yesterday our socialist democrats have decided it best to kill one sixth of that miracle. They have taken from Americans our power to vote with our dollar when purchasing health care. In their distorted world view,they feel they should be the source of all dollars in the medical sector of our economy. The transaction is no longer defined as being between the provider and the end user, and instead has been redefined as between Gov. and provider. One sixth of the economy (health care) is now in business to make the Gov happy in an effort to get Gov. dollars.

This forces the health-care end user out of the transaction and relegates them to the powerless status of a business cost. That is, you and me---business costs.

Bob Etheridge has proven himself to be an uncompromising statist who ignores not only the opposite side of the isle but the citizenry and state he pretends to represent. One can not put 1/6 of one's home state's economy under the direct influence of the federal government and claim to represent their state.

How is it, then, that Bob Etheridge can feel comfortable with charging Renee Ellmers, a woman who sides with the Constitution, liberty and the value of American Heritage, of extremism? The answer is that Bob Etheridge has been swimming so long with Pelosi, Reid and Obama that has lost sight of the Constitution limitations, the needs of the state of North Carolina, and the people he represents.

It is truly sad where the immoral governance of Bob Etheridge has taken our nation.

Dollars that may have gone to The March of Dimes or to The Red Cross or may have been used by one individual to help another are instead absorbed by government. Compare the offices of any charity to the the offices of any Government program and ask yourself if the government's overhead is moral. Compare the way dollars are received by the recipient from the gov. to the way they are received from an individual and ask yourself which is more moral. We are witnessing the death of American charity and liberals call that moral.

Otherwise all projections are underestimations. Lies. Corporations would be held accountable for such activity, but not government.

ObamaCare is already failing to miss cost projections and it has yet to be implemented. Brad Miller felt compelled to support this program not knowing how much 'high risk pools 'might cost.

Was an incomprehensibly low number picked for the bill's passage. Of course.

Kathleen Sebelius admitted she did not know how much the high risk pools would cost...

NPR Fires Juan Williams?

I've listened to NPR/PBS all my life. It gives me non shrill insight into the liberal mind and without it I feel lost. Most liberal outlets are so extreme, so bias, so shrill that the arguments being made are lost in the din. No so with NPR.

Juan Williams has worked for NPR for, seemingly, decades and in recent years has become a staple on FOX for his fairly moderate left wing views. Working for FOX, of course, is his first sin.

Around a year ago NPR asked him to stop referring to NPR as one of his credits when appearing on FOX. From what I could see, Williams did not comply as he should not have. Only in the distorted world view of a liberal organization would such a request seem remotely appropriate. Williams was using his employment with NPR as a credential and was (and is) fully within his rights to do so.

Now he has been fired by NPR for speaking ...




NPR takes issue with Williams' earlier statements in the segment and claims that they were “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”

In other words, the remarks were politically incorrect.

Government is obligated to respect the right to free speech, whereas a private company is not. Is NPR , therefore,within their rights to fire him?As a private company they would be, but as GM, Chrysler, and the big banks found, accepting government funding changes the rights a company has. According to Wikipedia:

According to the 2005 financial statement, NPR makes just over half of its money from the fees and dues it charges member stations to receive programming. Public funding accounts for 16% of the average member station's revenue, with 10% of this coming in the form of grants from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a federally funded organization.^[14][15][16] Some more of that money originates from local and state governments and government-funded universities subsidizing member stations' fees and dues to NPR.^[17] Member stations that serve rural and "minority" communities receive significantly more funding from the CPB; in some cases up to 70%.^[14] About 2% of NPR's non-membership created funding comes from bidding on government grants and programs, chiefly the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; the remainder comes from member station dues, foundation grants, and corporate underwriting.

So it appears NPR, as a recipient of government money, may not have the right to fire Juan Williams for the reasons they claim to be firing him.

Of course, NPR's real issue with Juan Williams was his being on FOX News.

Rep. David Price -- Forgetting the state he represents....

North Carolina sent David Price to Washington to represent not just the interests of the people of North Carolina but the interests of our great state as well.

If David Price did anything to strengthen North Carolina it has been over shadowed by the incredible pain and loss of power he inflicted on our state and its people when he threw his support behind ObamaCare.

First off, North Carolina has power reserved to by the Constitution. In fact, all states have reserved to them all powers not explicitly defined as a Federal power. (Amendment 10 of the Constitution) Up until this point North Carolina controlled health care within its boarders and could tailor that care to suit the needs of the citizens of North Carolina if it so desired. David Price, though, denied our people and NC the authority to control health care within our boarders. David Price denied our state the ability tailer its health care system to it's specific needs. But even worse, David Price abdicated that authority to our distant and unresponsive federal government.

This is not the action of a man who represents our state. This is, rather, the action of a man who represents the interests of Washington, a Washington drunk on power and ever desirous of more. David Price supports funneling powers Constitutionally reserved to North Carolina and its people away from our state to Washington. David Price is an enabler of Washington's power drunken stupor and likely addicted to it himself.

The Health Care Industry represents 1/6 of the economy. Therefore, it stands to reason that 1/6 of NC economy was simply turned over to Washington by David Price. 1/6th of North Carolina's economy is no longer under the control of North Carolina and its people!

David Price does not represent the interests of North Carolina, but rather, the interests of Washington.

David Price's lust for Washington power is greater than his love for North Carolina. David Price harms North Carolina. David Price harms the citizens of North Carlina.

We need to force David Price home for some Washington power addiction rehab. this November.

Rep. Brad Miller's Supporters Face the Radical Reality of the Democrat Party and Find Themselves Dispirited...

During the eight years of the Bush Administration Democrats were able to sell a false picture of themselves to the American people, but now with the burden of actual governance the reality of who they are has become apparent.

In the run up to Obama's election the false image of bipartisanship, moderate governance, post racial governance and the idea that all things good come from Democrats was whipped to a froth in the press and public imagination. The sense that Obama was the Democrat messiah was successfully propelled into the consciousness of the electorate and the moderates bought it.

Since then, for a variety of reasons, from the poor economy to the loss of liberty, public attention has been focused on governance over the past two years; the attention didn't stop with the "immaculation" of Obama. While under that scrutiny Democrats have been forced to define themselves by their actions rather than their sales pitch.

Two years ago they had a media messiah, now, inevitably, they have a failure. Where once they were able to sell the idea they were they party of fiscal discipline, the lie to the myth has been laid bare. Where once they claimed they were the party of the people, they are now the party of government owned businesses, takeovers and bailouts with the people's money. Where once they claimed to be the party of choice, they are now the party of limiting choice in health-care. Where once they feigned compromise, they lead unilaterally. Where once they seemed to reflect the wishes of the people, they defined themselves through immigration reform, Guantanamo, ObamaCare, and the Ground Zero Mosque as above the will of the people.

In an apparent desire to break new ground in politics Democrats have run counter to the wishes of the American people in every major bill and in every question of policy for two years straight.

The question, as it relates to voter turnout, then becomes: how dispirited are moderates and moderate Democrats by the reality of what democrats truly are, and how propelled are those who love liberty to vote against immoral governance? The degree to which these two dynamics counter one another will impact voter turnout.

According to Gallup their lower turnout model favors Republicans more than their high turnout model. The numbers over the past 3 weeks:

Rasmussen has confirmed these numbers:

Forty-eight percent (48%) of respondents say they would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate, while 39% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent.

Even more worrisome for Democrats, however, is the finding that among the voters who are most closely following the midterm elections Republicans hold a 55% to 36% lead.

Although I have focused on Brad Miller, I have given attention to Etheridge, McIntyre and Kissell. Shuler, however, has gotten none of my attention.

Based on nothing but my gut is seems GK Butterfield will likely get a pass this election season despite his awful record on liberty.

Finally, considering their disdain for the wishes of their constituents over the last two years and their current round of attack ads, I believe Brad Miller, and David Price to be weaker than they appear despite the paucity of polling data.


Vulnerable house seats via NRO:

NC-2: It’s rather fascinating that no one has polled this district featuring neck-grabbing Democrat incumbent Bob Etheridge and GOP challenger Renee Ellmers since June. That poll had Ellmers ahead by one. There’s been a lot of outside group spending in this district.

NC-7: A late September poll found GOP challenger Ilario Pantano leading incumbent Democrat Mike McIntyre by one point.

NC-8: Civitas puts incumbent Democrat Larry Kissell one point ahead of GOP challenger Harold Johnson.

NC-11: Civitas put incumbent Democrat Heath Shuler one point ahead of Republican challenger Jeff Miller.

Regarding the Ellmers/Etheridge campaign for (NC-2) NewsObserver had this to say:

As the midterm campaigns turn toward the home stretch, Republican challenger Renee Ellmers is out raising incumbent U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge in North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District.

Etheridge's campaign maintains a big lead in contributions for the election cycle, reporting $1.16 million to Ellmers' $452,000. It also has a huge advantage in cash on hand, $448,788 to Ellmers' $99,461.

But in the three months ended Sept. 30, Ellmers' campaign raised $264,000 to Etheridge's $250,000. Given the advantages of incumbency, Ellmers said, that edge is a measure of voters' unhappiness with the way business is done in Washington.

Was That George Washington Behind the Wheel of That Dodge Challenger?

Apparently this ad has been around for 4 months. Until now, though, I have been unaware of it.




My first impulse was toward revulsion, but I quickly realized that was only because advertising in popular culture has for too long eshewed tugging the strings of patriotism through our Founding Fathers, favoring instead tie-dyes and hippies.

Our Founding Fathers should be a part of our popular culture, and for that reason alone this ad is a nice change.

My positive feelings, tough, are tempered by the knowledge that this ad is an attempt by Chrysler, which has been bailed out by government, to regain customers lost for that reason. Add to it the popularity of the Tea Party and the self serving side to the ad is apparent. What ad isn't self serving, though?

Lastly, if Chrysler is marketing toward youthful buyers and they believe they can get to that market through our Funding Fathers, this ad is a good sign.

How is it that sitting Rep. GK Butterfield, besieged by Tea Party "lynch mobs", failed to rally more than 25 people to his side roughly 2 weeks prior to an election that could mark the end of his governance?

According to MyNC three of our nation's most liberal representatives, Brad Miller, Bob Etheridge, and David Price toured the goodies they forced our grandchildren to buy for us...

Congressmen David Price, Brad Miller and Bob Etheridge made stops around Raleigh including one at the City's Transit Operations Center, which is under construction on Poole Road.

City officials said $11.6 million of stimulus money is helping pay for the $21 million facility that will house and maintain Capital Area Transit buses.

Having served over 40 years combined, they have become power brokers pure and simple. They endorse funneling money earned by North Carolinians through the Fed Government with the tool of the IRS. They later claim that they are bringing federal dollars "home" to NC in a shameless attempt to garner votes. Of course, they claim to be Robin Hoods as they impoverish us all; they are not; they are shysters accumulating political power on the backs of our confiscated income and labor.

What is sadder is that they now spend more money gathering votes than we give them in taxes. They make up the difference by taxing the unborn. This is the sort of governance that leads to the end of nations, yet...

Brad Miller, Bob Etheridge, and David Price publicly parade with pride by the fruit of their immoral governance.

These three representatives swim in seas of immoral governance so deep and so wide that they know nothing else and see nothing inherently wrong in attempting to gleam votes from the goodies they forced later generations to buy us.

Of course, our grand children not only have to pay for those goodies, they also have to pay interest to the Chinese for Miller's failed stimulus. Yet Miller, Etheridge, and Price seem proud of the fact that they are stealing American prosperity from later generations and leaving them a diminished America.

These individuals are leading this country toward a generational embarrassment in which we will have left our progeny less than our parents left us.

A short and readable description of America's mortgage mess has been in dire need for som time now and Gonzalo Lira has delivered once again, but some information simply does not package well as a short teaser, thus the one below provided by the author.

Excerpted from Gonzalo Lira's The Second Leg Down of America's Death Spiral.

In the crazed frenzy to get as many mortgages securitized during the Oughts, banks took shortcuts with the paperwork necessary for the Mortgage Backed Securities. The reason was because everyone in the chain of this securitization mania got a little piece of the action—a little slice of the MBS pie in the shape of commissions.

So in the name of “improved efficiencies” (and how many horror stories are we finding out, carried out in the name of “improved efficiencies”), banks digitized the mortgage notes—they didn’t physically endorse them, like they were supposed to by the various state and Federal laws.

Plus—once the wave of foreclosures broke, and the holes in this bureaucratic paperwork became evident and relevant—some of the big law firms handling the foreclosures for the banks started doing some document fabrication and signature forgery, in order to cover up the mistakes—which is definitely illegal.

Long story short (since this is the short version): A lot of the foreclosed properties might not have been foreclosed legally. The people evicted might still have a right to their old houses. The new buyers might not actually own the REO’s they bought off the banks. The banks could be on the hook for trillions of dollars, and in the sights of literally millions of lawsuits.

In short: This could become another massive oozing sore, complete with yellow-green pus drip-drip-dripping out of some unmentionable places on the Body Economic.

Rasmussen Confirms Gallups Eye Popping No Longer Flaky Poll Turnout Numbers...

Rasmussen polling has returned numbers similar to those produced by Gallup:

Forty-eight percent (48%) of respondents say they would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate, while 39% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent.

Even more worrisome for Democrats, however, is the finding that among the voters who are most closely following the midterm elections Republicans hold a 55% to 36% lead.

Bill Randall, Rep Brad Miller and Moderator David Crabtree Debate Impressions...

Thanks to WRAL.

There were no fireworks, but that was no surprise, as it has been and still is Bill Randall's practice to never attack his opponent, but rather simply present himself to the voter. It is, however, Brad Miller's chosen course. Evidence of this can be found in Miller's campaign attack ads as mentioned within the debate and within the back and fourth of the debate itself. The few times Bill Randall appeared to be returning an attack by Brad Miller, Randall only spoke to Miller's mischaracterizations of him.

The debate moderator seemed prepared for Randall's style and strangely scored debate points for Randall on a couple of occasions . Odd. Moderators historically have argued the other side of the isle as evidenced in the recent Christine O'donnell debate with Chris Coons.



On one of the occasions when the moderator requested a clarification, Miller was visibly caught off guard. The three were discussing Miller's attacks on Randall's questioning of whether the Dept. of Education's funding should continue.

Brad Miller made the same argument in favor of the Dept. of Education that Butterfield and Price had made in their debates, that ending the Dept. of Education would eliminate $4 billion of funding from the Dept. of Education. In each case the argument was made as though the Dept. of Education did not receive funding from the state of NC. Each candidate appears to conveniently forget that NC would keep the money rather than sending it to DC to only return with DC strings attached.

When the moderator brought this bigger picture to Miller's attention, Miller stammered, shuffled his notes as if he had prepared for the question, but never answered the moderator's requested clarification. In a word, weak.

In a second instance where the moderator asked for clarification from Brad Miller, Miller entirely avoided answering the question. Brad Miller and Bill Randall had been asked to comment on the the sunsetting of the Bush Tax Cuts, and the fact that congress had recessed without deciding whether to extend them or not. Brad Miller answered that the Bush Tax Cuts were essentially a cost for government. He avoided the fact that this can only assume that all the the money individuals earn by selling their time on earth belongs to the Federal Government and that the Government incurs a cost when it allows the citizenry to keep their earnings.

Miller did, however, argue that the tax cuts should continue for "ordinary Americans" to which the moderator asked what constitutes an "ordinary American"? Miller seemed to sense the depth of the short question, a question that in essence charged Miller with attempting to divide Americans on the basis of class; he initially stumbled in response. Terms like "Ordinary Americans" can mean so much more in a debate than in ordinary discourse. Miller quickly gained his footing, though, as he began to evade toward a meandering and time consuming basket of nonsense that ended with blaming deregulation.

It seems only appropriate to note that the moderator has a name. David Crabtree. He has my respect as he "stole the show" if such a phrase can be used in a debate. It should be remembered that that opening moves are nearly always obvious, but the follow ups are less so and it was those follow up questions that kept both Miller and Randall on their toes.

Rep. Butterfield co-sponsored a bill that would give Bermudian homeowners and businesses susceptible to hurricanes and floods tax credits and financial assistance. An amendment to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (stimulus) would set aside part of the $787B for hazard mitigation. Rep. Butterfield received a donation for his services. He also received donations from British Petroleum (BP) which is a foreign corporation.
